Nyomi is excited for her first day of school, but on her way there, she discovers that her close friend Teddy has been in a bad situation. Some new characters will join Nyomi as they help Teddy overcome the incident and get to school. Issue 2 will offer interactive activities for both parents and children, while also educating them about helmet safety tips.
Our Story
Midnight Phoenix Publishing began with a desire to make health and science engaging, memorable, and empowering. Inspired by childhood educational staples like The Magic School Bus, Smokey Bear, and D.A.R.E., I created the Adventures of Nyomi to help children learn about their health while giving families opportunities to learn together.
As a physician and public health professional, I see education as advocacy—and another form of primary prevention. Knowledge gives people the confidence to ask questions and take a more active role in their health.
Creating Midnight Phoenix Publishing allowed me to bring that vision to life as an independent author while collaborating with other independent creatives. Today, that vision is expanding: to create a home where independent authors, new ideas, and meaningful stories have the opportunity to rise.
